Star City Schools Seek Bids for Bullet-Resistant Entrance Glass

The Star City School District is requesting sealed bids for construction and installation of bullet-resistant glazing on glass windows at specific school entrances listed in its Request for Proposal.

The bid packet was issued Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, with a submission deadline of Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2026. Project locations are Star City High School, Star City Middle School and Jimmy Brown Elementary. District leaders project an October 2026 start and said contractors must coordinate schedules, site access and any temporary closures to minimize disruption to school operations.

Officials framed the work as a campus-safety upgrade for Lincoln County students and staff while keeping day-to-day classes running.
