The Warren City Council on Monday, May 11, approved Resolution A713 authorizing an outdoor recreation grant application for the Warren city pool.
The resolution passed 6–0. The grant is a 50/50 state match administered through Arkansas Parks and Tourism. The same meeting approved Ordinance 979 (5–0, with Council Member Memory Burks-Frazer abstaining) allowing her to be employed to run the city pool for summer 2026.
Department updates included continued transition to the city’s new garbage system, heavy use of the Rock Street recycling drop-off, and McDonald’s agreeing to recycle cardboard. Mayor Gregg Reep again urged residents to use the cardboard and paper recycling program as the city prepared for the 70th Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival.
