Warren native Antonio Jordan led the Arkansas Razorbacks in receiving Saturday night as Arkansas beat Vanderbilt 31-21 in Nashville, Tenn.
The former Warren Lumberjack caught five passes for 74 yards on seven targets, according to the University of Arkansas box score. Both the catches and the yards were his best for a single college game. Saline River News first reported on Jordan’s night.
The catch that set up the lead
Arkansas and Vanderbilt were tied 21-21 late in the third quarter. Jordan’s 32-yard catch from quarterback KJ Jackson moved the ball to the Vanderbilt 3-yard line, Saline River News reported.
Cam Settles scored on a 3-yard run on the next play with nine seconds left in the quarter. Arkansas led the rest of the way and added a 39-yard field goal by Max Gilbert in the fourth quarter.
Jordan’s bigger role came after leading receiver Chris Marshall left the game, Saline River News reported.
“We have been working on this since summer,” Jordan said in the team’s postgame notes. “If one guy goes down coaches expect the others to step up and that is what I did.”
