Warren Council Renews Boom-Truck Lease, Adopts County Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Warren City Council approved a new two-year lease with River City Hydraulics for the city’s boom truck used for limb and debris pickup after reviewing repurchase and $207,000 purchase options as the prior lease expired.

Council members also adopted Resolution No. A711, approving the Bradley County Hazard Mitigation Plan as required by FEMA, and renewed an annual contract with McClelland Consulting Engineers to maintain permits on former landfill sites until closure. Mayor Gregg Reep reported city and county sales-tax shares were each up about 5% versus the prior year and said the required federal audit showed no issues.

Other business included placing an overgrown heir-property on the condemnation list, approving eight downtown side-by-side trash and recycling receptacles, and advancing the GFL garbage-collection transition toward once-weekly pickup beginning the week of April 6. Reep said a prospect had toured the former hardwood flooring site and that a new city-pool grant application would follow when the window opens.
