The Warren City Council on Monday, April 13, approved Resolution A712 honoring longtime resident Bernice Martin, who turned 106 on April 3, and advanced several civic and school partnerships.
Council members unanimously approved a lease letting Warren schools use city baseball and softball fields for $5,000 a year to help cover utilities and lighting, plus road closures for the Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival and Bradley County Medical Center’s 75th anniversary. A Wolf Pack Motorcycle Club fundraiser closure on South John C. Moss Street also passed 5–0.
Mayor Gregg Reep updated the council on the former poultry-plant auction path, Armstrong equipment sales, municipal-pool grant work, and solar-farm materials already on site. GFL Environmental reported a smooth first week of private garbage collection as the city urged cardboard recycling.
