The Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation awarded $25,000 to the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund for a third consecutive year, targeting scholarships and wraparound support for single parents in the Arkansas Delta.
Funding covers eligible students in 19 counties including Bradley, Drew, Desha, Jefferson, Chicot, Ashley, Lincoln and Phillips. Spring 2026 Bradley County recipient Britleigh Smith said the aid brought relief and hope during a hard season. ASPSF CEO Jenn Morehead tied the gift to careers that keep opportunity close to home.
Statewide in 2026, ASPSF reported 475 scholarships totaling $682,800 before Fall applications (Aug. 1–Sept. 1). Delta parents can reach program manager Makayla Washington at 870-498-8650.
