JPMorganChase will purchase 60,000 metric tons of durable carbon dioxide removal credits from Graphyte, the Pine Bluff carbon-casting company announced in April 2026.
Credits will come from Graphyte’s Jefferson Industrial Park plant — Project Loblolly — and from Project Ponderosa in Flagstaff, Arizona, scheduled to open in 2027. Project Loblolly issued 15,000 credits to existing customers in 2025 and has operated since January 2024. CEO Barclay Rogers said the agreement reflects demand for high-quality, on-time CDR deliveries that help institutions offset operational emissions.
Taylor Wright, JPMorganChase head of operational sustainability, said the bank is backing durable carbon-removal solutions that can scale and create community co-benefits. Graphyte was also ranked among Time magazine’s Top GreenTech Companies of 2026 (No. 169) around the announcement.
Graphyte stores cast biomass blocks underground between Pine Bluff and Sheridan, pairing residual rice-hull and forestry biomass with Jefferson County jobs.
