Dallas County Sheriff Mike Knoedl said in his Friday Felony Friday report that a person newly released from the county jail in Fordyce returned Thursday with methamphetamine and asked to be arrested again, Deltaplex News reported.
Unusual arrest
Knoedl said deputies took the person back into custody on additional drug charges. The sheriff did not name the person or list the new counts in the weekly update published Oct. 9.
Drought and burn ban
Knoedl also warned that dry weather is hitting Dallas County hard. He said some wells have gone dry and stock ponds used for livestock are low, comparing conditions to the severe Arkansas drought of 1980. He asked for rain and reminded residents that the county burn ban remains in effect until further notice.
