The Saline River Shootout is Friday, Oct. 2, when the Monticello Billies visit the Warren Lumberjacks. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Warren, according to MaxPreps’ preview line, and it is a league game for both schools.
Both teams come in at 2-2. Warren won its 8-4A opener at DeWitt on Sept. 25. Monticello beat Hamburg 44-24 the same night, according to MaxPreps. Prep Redzone lists both teams at 2-2 ahead of the game.
Free tailgate. Commercial Bank and Bradley County Medical Center will host their annual pregame tailgate in front of Lumberjack Arena starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks, and organizers invited both Warren and Monticello fans. Saturday in the park. BCMC says its “Pink in the Park” event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month follows on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Warren City Park, beginning at 10 a.m. Plans include children’s activities, live entertainment, vendors and the chance to schedule a mammogram.
