How the game unfolded
Hamburg scored first on a 15-yard pass. Warren answered when Hayden Hampton scored from inside the 10 after a DeAngelo Herron handoff, and Emanuel Pahuamba’s kick tied the game at 7-7.
The Lions then pulled away. A 76-yard quarterback run, a 53-yard field goal, and a short touchdown run after a Warren kickoff fumble made it 24-7 by the end of the first quarter. Hamburg added more before halftime, including a 23-yard touchdown pass, and led 38-7 at the break. Two Warren interceptions near the goal line ended promising drives.
After halftime, a 12-yard Hamburg run triggered the mercy rule at 45-7. The Lions later returned a punt for a touchdown and kicked a 37-yard field goal. Warren’s late score came on a 38-yard catch by Ty Hembree from Coleman Byrd. The extra point missed, leaving the final at 55-13.
