Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas College are lining up a citywide beautification push this fall, branded Pine Bluff Glow Up, with the first big volunteer day set for Saturday, Oct. 3.
Organizers say the kickoff cleanup runs 8:30–11 a.m. and includes a friendly Ward Wars competition among the city’s four wards. The concept was developed by SEARK English faculty member Dr. Steven R. Monk and presented to city leaders with backing from Mayor Vivian Flowers, SEARK President Dr. Tyrone Jackson, and the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Clean and Beautiful Commission.
Glow Up continues the city’s Clean Up Pine Bluff campaign and lines up with code-enforcement and neglected-property work. Residents can also request free removal of abandoned or inoperable vehicles through Oct. 9 by calling 870-329-1681 or the mayor’s office.
