El Dorado Museum Hosts Johnny Cash Folsom Exhibit Open House Sept. 24

The South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society will host a free open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at El Dorado’s Gallery of History Museum, 412 E. Faulkner St.

The drop-in event features “1968: A Folsom Redemption,” a traveling photography exhibit documenting Johnny Cash’s historic 1968 concerts at Folsom Prison. The exhibit is presented in partnership with ExhibitsUSA, a national program of the Mid-America Arts Alliance.

Guests may explore the exhibit during the open house and enjoy light refreshments. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The museum’s exhibit listing says the show will remain available during its scheduled run after the opening.
