Pine Bluff Arsenal commander Col. Matthew Mason told the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce on July 1 that the Jefferson County installation is preparing to hire about 60 workers — mostly wage-grade textile and ammunition-line roles, plus engineering posts — as new missions ramp up.
Alongside the announced Hanwha Defense USA munitions lease, Mason said Titan Mining (Empire State Mines) won an Army contract for a commercial graphite purification facility at the arsenal and Anniston Army Depot, with groundwork eyed for FY27 and construction in FY28 under a 50-year lease. A separate combat-service company received a $21 million contract to develop a protection system produced in-house at the arsenal.
Mason also pointed to under-used arsenal storage that could support East Camden munitions contractors short on space.
