Siloam Springs beat El Dorado 2-1 on Saturday, May 23, to win the Class 5A boys state soccer championship at Hot Springs Lakeside High School.
Sophomore Elijah Salsgiver scored both Siloam Springs goals, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported. The title is the Panthers’ first since 2017, the paper said.
El Dorado, the Union County program, was playing in its first state final, the El Dorado News reported. The Wildcats had several looks in the closing minutes, including one with fewer than 10 seconds left. Siloam Springs goalkeeper Benson saved each one, the Democrat-Gazette reported.
