Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge requires an Annual Public Use Permit to hunt, fish, launch boats and use campgrounds.
The permit costs $20 for ages 16 and older and is valid one year from purchase. Youth 15 and younger no longer need a free permit. Other passes or Duck Stamps do not waive the requirement. Modern-gun quota applications are accepted in August; muzzleloader quota permits go on sale Aug. 1 at noon. All permits process online at whiteriver.recaccess.com.
