The Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission hosted a gas giveaway beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Lakeview Fast Mart, 100 N. Walnut St., in Pine Bluff.
Free gasoline was available to eligible participants while supplies lasted on a first-come, first-served basis, the commission said in a release carried by the Pine Bluff Commercial. Organizers encouraged early arrival.
Executive Director DuShun L. Scarbrough Sr. said the giveaway continues the commission’s focus on service, compassion and economic opportunity, quoting Dr. King’s reminder that everybody can be great because everybody can serve.
The stop is part of the commission’s statewide community-assistance work and adds a same-week civic service note for Jefferson County readers.
