The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Class of 2026 includes two Pine Bluff–area honorees with deep University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff ties: former dean and vice chancellor Hazell Reed, Ph.D., and the late Dr. Raymond P. Miller.
Reed is recognized as an agricultural educator and mentor who shaped leadership development across Arkansas. Miller, honored posthumously, graduated magna cum laude from Arkansas AM&N College (now UAPB) and later served on the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees when AM&N became UAPB. The seven-person class also includes Becky and Darrell Finney, Frank A. James, Joe Marcus Johnson and California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber.
The 32nd induction ceremony is set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Robinson Performance Hall in Little Rock. Hall chairman Charles O. Stewart said the class “exemplifies excellence at the highest level” across education, medicine, agriculture, athletics and public service.
