How to read these numbers

Every figure here comes from the Arkansas Department of Education’s public site, My School Info. Each column is one school year’s report card, and each table links to the page we copied it from.

  • Enrollment counts students registered and present at least one day before Oct. 1 of that school year.
  • Graduation rate is the share of a starting ninth-grade class (adjusted for students who move in or out) who earned a regular diploma. The 2025-26 column shows “Not posted” because the department had not posted that figure on the 2025-26 page.
  • College-going rate is the share of graduates who enrolled in an Arkansas college or university within 12 months. Students who went to college out of state are not counted. The 2025-26 figure was not posted.
  • Spending per student is state and federal spending, not counting debt, construction and equipment, divided by the district’s average daily membership, the department’s average count of enrolled students.
  • Low-income students are those who qualify for free or reduced-price meals or are directly certified for them.
  • Average class size and students per teacher measure different things, so they don’t match.

Small districts can swing a lot from year to year. A change of a few students can move a percentage several points. The definitions above are from the department’s report card business rules.
