Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission announced more than $12.52 million across 88 Community Development Block Grant and State Rural Community Grant awards for Arkansas cities, counties and communities.
Southeast Arkansas recipients in the release include Rural Services Block Grants to the City of Tillar (Drew County) for $100,000, the City of Banks (Bradley County) for $89,999.99, and Ashley County for about $90,000. Rural Community Grants listed Star City Fire Department (Lincoln County) at $7,259, Drew County at $13,495.50, and Bradley Fire Department at $15,000, among other statewide awards.
Sanders said the funds help local leaders build parks, trails, community centers and safer streets that “bring neighbors together” and improve quality of life in the Natural State.
