The Warren City Council approved a Warren Aviation Commission recommendation to reseal the municipal airport runway and taxiway during its regular July meeting at the Warren Municipal Building.
The commission had backed the work at its July 7 meeting. The roughly $195,000 project will be funded through the city’s aviation fund. Mayor Gregg Reep also reported sales-tax collections running about 5% ahead of the prior year, an ARPA-fund audit letter finding the city in good standing, and industrial-recruitment tours of the former poultry plant by visitors from New York and California.
In the same session the council unanimously reappointed Jennifer Rodriguez, Albert Hammons, James Hooper and Dana Langford to new three-year terms on the Warren Planning Commission, and heard updates on a planned climate-controlled storage facility at the former Fred’s building and a mural project at the former street department shop.
