Jefferson Regional has received a $3 million grant to replace an approximately 50-year-old air-handling system at its Pine Bluff hospital.
KVOM reported that the award came through the SAFE component of Arkansas’ Rural Health Transformation Program and will support the Jefferson Regional Air Handler 36 HVAC Project. The replacement is intended to improve air quality, strengthen infection-prevention measures and support uninterrupted patient care.
The award was part of roughly $149.3 million announced for 50 projects statewide in the program’s first round. A construction timeline had not been announced.
