MONTICELLO — William “Hud” Jackson will step down as UAM head football coach at the end of the 2025 season to serve full time as director of athletics, the university announced Nov. 9.
Jackson has coached the Boll Weevils since 2011, reached his 50th program win in October 2025, and guided the 2018 Corsicana Bowl trip. He has also been athletics director since March 2022 after interim service beginning in 2021. Fundraising under his watch includes the privately funded Kenneth H. Hunt Athletic Performance Center and more than $2 million toward Legacy Campaign projects.
Chancellor Peggy Doss praised Jackson’s integrity and student-athlete focus as he shifts fully to the AD chair.
