Desha County Cooperative Extension agent Heather Reed is hosting a free Capacity Building Through Grant Writing Workshop and Lunch on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McGehee Municipal Building, 901 Holly St.
Nonprofit and community-based organizations can get hands-on guidance on the grant-writing process and funding strategies. The workshop is led by Dr. Hunter P. Goodman, assistant professor in Community, Workforce, and Economic Development with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Reed said participants simply call the Desha County Extension Office at 870-222-3972 to register.
