This page gathers public numbers about Cleveland County in one place: crime reports, population, weather, drought, rivers and past elections. It also explains how to look up court cases, property records and school report cards yourself. Every figure links to the government agency that published it.

Updated Oct. 18, 2026. We recheck these figures when the agencies release new data.

Key facts

  • The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office reported 38 property crimes to the FBI in 2024, the latest year with a full 12 months of reports, down from 75 in 2016. Reported crime is not the same as all crime; see the explainer below. (Source: FBI Crime Data Explorer)

Crime numbers: what they mean and what they don’t

The crime tables count offenses that one agency reported to the FBI through Arkansas’s crime reporting program, run by the Arkansas Crime Information Center: the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

What they show: how many crimes were reported to or found by the sheriff’s office each year. Violent crime means murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. Property crime means burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft and arson.

What they don’t show:

  • Crimes nobody reported to police.
  • Arrests or convictions. A reported offense is not proof that anyone committed it. Anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
  • Cases worked by other agencies, such as the Arkansas State Police.

The numbers are small, so a few cases can swing a year up or down, and changes in how an agency records or reports crime can move them too. For that reason we show counts, not rates. A year marked “incomplete” is missing at least one month of reports; “(11 mo.)” means the agency reported for 11 of 12 months. In the tables, “Sheriff” is the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office. Rangers at Marks’ Mills Battleground State Park began reporting to the FBI in 2024. They reported no crimes in 2024 or 2025, and are not included in the tables. The FBI can revise its figures. These were pulled Oct. 18, 2026, from FBI data last refreshed Oct. 15, 2026.

How to read the other tables

  • Population comes from each 10-year census, plus the Census Bureau’s latest yearly estimate. The estimate is not a count.
  • Weather figures are NOAA’s countywide averages, built from weather stations in and near the county. The most recent months are preliminary and can change.
  • Drought comes from the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor map, which began in 2000. “Severe” (D2), “extreme” (D3) and “exceptional” (D4) are its three worst categories. A week counts if any part of the county was in that category or worse.
  • Rivers: The U.S. Geological Survey has no active streamflow gauge with daily records inside Cleveland County. The table uses long-running gauges nearby: Saline River near Rye (Bradley County) and Saline River near Sheridan (Grant County). A water year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30. Recent USGS data can be revised.

How to look up a court case

Arkansas court records are searchable for free on Search ARCourts, run by the state’s Administrative Office of the Courts. It replaced the older Public CourtConnect site.

  1. Open Search ARCourts.
  2. Search by a person’s name or by case number.
  3. Narrow the results with the search filters, and check that the case is in a Cleveland County court.
  4. Open a case to see the parties, the judge, filings, charges and outcomes, upcoming court dates and judgments. Some cases link to the filed documents.

Not everything is online. Some court records are not public under Arkansas Supreme Court rules and won’t appear. Every circuit court provides basic case statistics to the site, and most post fuller case information. Only some district courts are on it. If you can’t find a case, call the court where it was filed.

  • Circuit court (criminal, civil, probate, domestic relations and juvenile cases): Cleveland County is in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. The Cleveland County Circuit Clerk’s mailing address is P.O. Box 368, Rison, AR 71665; phone 870-325-6521.
  • District court (traffic tickets, misdemeanors, small claims and civil cases up to $25,000): see the state’s district courts directory for Cleveland County District Court.
  • Questions about the website: Administrative Office of the Courts, 501-410-1900 (option 1) or 866-823-5778.

A charge is an accusation, not proof. Seeing a name in a court record does not mean that person did anything wrong. iSEARK.com does not publish names from these searches on this page.
