Ashley County Sheriff’s Office phone lines are back in service after an internet outage knocked them offline, MyArkLaMiss (KTVE/KARD) reported, citing the sheriff’s office.
What went down
The Ashley County Sheriff’s Office said its regular phone lines were down because of an internet outage. Until service returned, the office asked residents to use a temporary number for non-emergency help.
- Temporary line (during outage): 870-831-1848.
- Emergencies: Call 911, as always, for Hamburg, Crossett and the rest of Ashley County.
- Main sheriff line (restored): 870-853-2040; office at 842 Ashley 12 West, Hamburg.
Who to call now
With lines restored, callers can use the sheriff’s published numbers again for non-emergency business. Booking and detention are listed at 870-853-9822; CID at 870-853-2003, per the Ashley County Sheriff’s Office contact page.
KTVE/KARD first reported the outage notice and later the restoration update. Anyone still getting a failed call should try 911 for emergencies or the temporary number only if the office says it remains in use.
