First Pine Bluff Promise Walk for Preeclampsia Set for Oct. 3

The first Pine Bluff Promise Walk for Preeclampsia is set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 3, at the John W. Fallis Waterfront Facility. Check-in and registration begin at 8:45 a.m.

Local chair Dominek Rainey said preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy condition tied to high blood pressure and remains a leading cause of illness and death for mothers and babies. The family-friendly event plans speakers, survivor stories and giveaways; walkers may register individually or create a team.

The date sits among several Oct. 3 Pine Bluff community activities listed on the Commercial calendar, including cleanup, toy-drive and waterfront programming.
