MONTICELLO — The Southeast Arkansas Regional Library System and the American Heart Association launched Libraries with Heart on Sept. 12, 2025, placing blood-pressure monitoring kits for checkout at Dermott, Dumas, Eudora, Hermitage, Lake Village, McGehee, Monticello, Star City and Warren branches, funded by the Blue & You Foundation.
Each kit includes a monitor and cuff, a log book, instructions and a list of local clinics. AHA Arkansas community impact director Brady Lacy said the goal is to close rural monitoring gaps; SEAR director Hunter Bennett called the checkout model a practical wellness tool for patrons who cannot easily buy a home monitor.
Tabletop monitors are also available for walk-in use. Patrons are encouraged to keep kits about four weeks to finish a tracking period.
